"Sit With It"

Hey friends- I know, I know, it's been a few months since my last blog. I gotta say, I was in one of the BUSIEST seasons I've ever had! It was soooo good though- I completed a full marathon, threw my best friend a bridal shower and got to witness her marry the love of her life, I moved, attended a gala, so much! To say my time was stretched and limited is an understatement! And yet, now that life has slowed down a bit, God has me in a new and interesting season. It's a season of simply sitting- with feelings, thoughts, emotions, unresolved things, etc. You see, when you are in a season of busy-ness, it's easy to acknowledge feelings and tuck them away. It's easy to push things down. When life slows down, all those things come back up. I read a quote the other day that talked about if you have unresolved feelings, they never go away, they'll come back or show up in different ways to let you know they're still unresolved (totally paraphrasing here). Well, let me tell you, now that the season isn't filled up with events or busy like previously, God has me in a space of sitting with so much, facing quite a bit, and instead of me "running away" (this is kinda funny though lol) or avoiding to sit with the pain, I get to sit with the uncomfortableness of sitting with emotions and different things. I straight up told my therapist last week, "I don't know how to sit with it and I don't like it". And yet, that's the whole point. I haven't sit with it long enough to let God speak on it or say what He has to say. Shoot, the real and even deeper thing is I haven't fully handed over everything to Him either, which has been clear in this sitting season.
It's the Christmas season, which is my FAVORITE holiday/season of the year! I pray you read this and don't feel sorry or pity for me, but that maybe if there's something you need to sit with God about, sit with Him. Sit with yourself and reflect. Be still in moments you can. Let's not shy away from the stillness or quiet. It's in the quiet where God is the loudest. Merry Christmas friends! Enjoy sitting with family, loved ones, yourself, and most importantly, God.
"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth" Psalm 46:10
